There’s simply nothing quite like leather furniture. It cradles, comforts, and soothes your body in a unique – organic way. The soft skin is easily adaptable to any shape and seems to support you no matter whether you’re sitting, slouching, or lying down. I find my new leather sofa and loveseat to be like a comforting friend at the end of a long day. I stretch out with something warm to drink on these cool evenings lately, and feel instantly relaxed.
Leather has another unique quality. It is cool in the heat of summer and warm in the cold of winter. Somehow it always seems to be the correct temperature. A lot of people think they will stick to it in the heat but that is simply not the case. A leather sofa's smooth surface stays dry and never sticky. Fabric surfaces can often make me feel overly warm and stuffy in the heat of summer; leather doesn’t do that at all. I think it’s because it breathes unlike other surfaces. In the winter, it is warm and easy to cuddle up in with a throw in front of the TV.
Another remarkable characteristic about leather that makes it my overwhelming choice for furniture is the ease with which it cleans. Most of the time, I just wipe it with a damp rag to remove anything that has spilled on it. It only needs conditioning once a year but, to tell you the truth, mine hasn’t even needed that and it remains soft and supple. Be sure to always choose a thick leather hide such as those offered in the Sera Collection; it seems indestructible and always looking amazingly fresh and new. I am a devout leather advocate now that I own, live with, and enjoy my family room pieces. |
